Jazz al Dente
This quirky outfit is dedicated to retro Italian jazz, pop and cinema from the era of La Dolce Vita.
Come party Italian style, with this cheeky collaboration between chanteuse Courtney Severini and Jess Ciampa, bringing to life the music of Rosemary Clooney, Nino Rota and Renato Carosone.
Marsala
Marsala covers some of the best music from Italy, Colombia, Brazil, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia, Russia, France, Cuba, Spain, Zimbabwe…
They do Gypsy Music, Tango, Salsa, Samba, the African Township thing, French Rap, Italian Jazz, Tom Waits songs, Russian Folk songs… anything to make audiences feel passionately and dance beautifully. They create passion and romance where ever they go. Audiences can’t help but dance and fall in love with each other’s traditions.
Marsala is more of an institution than a band. It brings together the life work and study of some outstanding musicians. They bring together knowledge and understanding of various traditions and continue to explore and present ‘the world’ in music.
Pat Capocci
Hard working and relentless determination are just two characteristics that can be attributed to Pat Capocci. Since forming nearly 10yrs ago, Pat Capocci has emerged as one of Australia’s most respected practitioners of Rockabilly and Roots music.
His ‘all or nothing’ mentality has gained him respect on both a national and international level. Undoubtedly being one of Australia’s hardest working bands, it is no wonder why all ages and subcultures across the world admire the energy and passion fuelled music that is Pat Capocci.
Pat’s unique style and charisma combined with his natural song writing ability has seen the combo transcend the typical novelty of the genre. Pat’s writing style blends a unique feel of western swing, jazz, country and blues, and in the same way that all iconic artists have, Pat has used the genre as a launching pad, deepening and broadening the integrity and timelessness of the music.
Pat’s energetic fusion of guitar greats such as Charlie Christian, Johnny Guitar Watson, Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt and Grady Martin, paired with great passion and determination, show exactly why Pat is regarded as one of Australia’s best modern Practitioners of Rockabilly music.
Fortissimo!
Sydney performer and singing teacher Nadia Piave presents Fortissimo! A choir that embraces the romantic within, the Italian that lives in the heart of us all… In fact, if your favourite Auntie’s best pummarola sauce could sing, we think it would be Fortissimo!
Their songs range widely from Italian traditional to English folk songs, baroque madrigals, the occasional retro pop song, World songs, and songs by the great composers. And, just like every great Italian chef they improvise too!
Bravissimo, Bellissimo, Fortissimo! …Gently simmering on the Sydney singing scene since 2006!
